From carrying out my questionnaire I was able to identify what my target audience wanted from my music magazine. It allowed me to think beyond my task and what actually a music magazine should provide for my target audience.
What i could do is include the artist names that were mentioned as features on the contents page and coverlines on the front page. I also carried out this questionnaire for reassurance, that my plans for my music magazine were alright and were suitable for my target audience.
This is important because if i dont include what my audience request for then i wont be able to successful sell my product.
From my question
1) Most of the responses I receieved were expected. for example many people said they wanted to e updated on songs and artists. I planned to include coverlines including artist names and top 10 songs.
2) This question was to see if my audience liked to attend events so that i could provide extra information for them. In the next question u see if it is relevant including this information in my music magazine or whether my audience prefers another source.
3) This question was more out of interest and reassurance on my ideas. I researched about asian/cultural events happening around london and uk so that i was able to advertise it to my audience however information like this could be irrelevant to my audience so understanding whether they wanted it or not helped me confirm that my idea was relevant to their needs.
4) I wanted to research Indian music artists more in depth, however i was unsure of which artist my audience was interested in. There are so many different sub genres in Indian music it is hard to decide which area to focus in. So i came to a conclusion that i wanted my music magazine to be a variety for a much wider audience because it is still a small niche market already.
5)My last question was to see if there were any other interests for my target audience within the Indian genre. I understand that my target audience was interested a lot in food however my magazine would not fit the codes and conventions of a music magazine and it's purpose if it had involvement with cooking. However it was essential to find out this type of information because if i planned to actually create a real magazine for the Indian Asian target audience i am aware of their main interests.
